In the fall of 1969, the Six Institutions' Consortium began a 3-phase program on African and Afro-American Studies Curriculum. This project is based on the continuing interest and purpose of the consortium to pool the resources and strengthen member institutions in the direction of achieving the overall quality improvement and services that they render to undergraduate education, in-service teacher education, and faculty development.
