A Study of Graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Their Perceptions on Employability and Graduate School Preparedness

This study focuses on analyzing how Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) can better prepare students for employability and graduate school following graduation. The perceptions of HBCU alumni was used to assess what role attending an HBCU played in their success and employability preparation. This data collected from this study helped identify possible gaps and factors that may play a role in student preparation. This study also looked to help HBCU implement changes in the academic and professional realm. Surveys were completed by HBCU alumni to explore their perceptions on their collegiate experience to better enhance the experience of current students.
