This study developed a Drug Involvement Classification for a general population. The classification took into consideration the following: type of drug used, legality, frequency and recency of drug use, number and combinations of drug used. The tendency of more than 1100 males and females aged 17-92 to daydream about the past, present, and future was determined. Contrary to common belief, no linear relation between age and daydreaming about the past was observed, and all temporal orientations were of near equal strength at all ages. (Author)

Data from a 1974 representative survey of the white American adult population indicate most white Americans (75 percent) disapprove of homosexual relations. Young (N=18) and older (N=18) adults participated in a vocabulary task involving varying degrees of risk with a payoff structure that varied either directly or inversely with risk. In contrast to prior research using constant payoff structures, results did not indicate that older adults are more cautious than young adults. (Author)

The proposition that age at first marriage is inversely related to the risk of divorce was examined by means of detailed age-duration-specific divorce rates for California 1969. Interrelationships between patterns of drug abuse and personality and motivation were determined for male and female subjects. Significant sex differences were found with respect to drug behavior. Accelerated massed desensitization and anxiety management training were compared with standard systematic desensitization in terms of reducing self-reported test anxiety in high test-anxious college students. The reactive effect of self-monitoring was examined in three experiments. Some results indicated that self-monitoring was reactive, providing a performance goal or feedback augmented the reactive effects of self-monitoring, and the act of self-recording led to behavior change. (Author)
