This study examines trends in student attitudes and behavior toward drugs over a twelve-month period, and follows up a previous investigation of University of Maryland students' attitudes and behavior toward drug use. This study monitored the impact of intra-institutional relocation upon the mortality and morbidity of movers and nonmovers over a period of 30 months. Results reveal a higher mortality rate and a greater decrement on the physical and mental functioning of male patients who were transferred. (Author)

By using multivariate statistical techniques, various demographic and descriptive variables were related to a behavioral measure and an attitudinal measure of volunteer behavior among college students. The Sensation-Seeking Scale and The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory were administered to 30 white, 30 black, and 30 Hispanic male narcotic drug abusers. White subjects scored significantly higher on the five Sensation-Seeking subscales. No significant differences were obtained between ethnic groups on state or trait anxiety. (Author)

An analysis of the helping process suggests two important components of behaving competently. In the present research, snake phobics provided help to confederates whom they believed to be similarly phobic. Modeling produces more subjective improvement than the expectancy manipulation. (Author)
