Levenstein, Joseph; And Others – Small Group Behavior, 1977
Tests the hypothesis that a response to a given feedback statement will be its reciprocal. In Phase 1, a pool of feedback statements was written and scaled along dimensions of power (dominance-submission) and affect (affection-hostility). In Phase 2, these statements were used as the basis for giving feedback and replying to it. (Author)

Globetti, Gerald; And Others – Offender Rehabilitation, 1977

Lee, Gary R.; Finney, John M. – Journal of Gerontology, 1977
This paper describes a two-stage sampling design for obtaining probability samples of the elderly and other specialized populations. Results indicate elderly individuals will respond, use of the design does not appear to increase sample bias, and the method is extremely inexpensive. (Author)

Conway, John B. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1977
Smokers (N = 90) were assigned to 10 treatment conditions; another 20 smokers were included in a no-apply control group. The treatment effects of aversive conditioning were negligible, and in some instances they were surpassed by the effects of controls for nonspecific treatment factors and placebo effects. (Author)

Shrauger, J. Sidney; Sorman, Peter B. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1977
High and low general-self-esteem subjects performed a series of anagrams on which they either appeared to succeed or fail or received little evaluative feedback. Their persistence at a subsequent set of anagrams was assessed. Following initial failure low-self-esteem subjects persisted less than high-self-esteem subjects. (Author)

Lamb, Douglas H. – Journal of Drug Education, 1976
To obtain national information on current college level drug programs, counseling centers (n=46) on large (10,000+) campuses were surveyed. Rice, Joy K.; Goering, Margaret L. – Journal of the NAWDAC, 1977
The positive results from two workshop evaluations (N=42), the high return on the follow-up questionnaires, and the spontaneous, enthusiastic responses, both written and verbal, support the hypothesis that a single in-depth workshop experience can be quite effective in facilitating planning and decision making of returning adults, particularly…
