Minority Representation in Higher Education: The Impact of Population Heterogeneity.
Mentzer, Marc S.
Journal of Higher Education, v64 n4 p417-33 Jul-Aug 1993
A study using national data on minority college students and institutional heterogeneity revealed that minority groups are better represented at some universities than others, relative to their proportions in the state population. State racial heterogeneity is a major determinant of African-American representation. For other minority groups, heterogeneity is not predictive. (Author/MSE)
