A factor analysis of a questionnaire investigating alienation among ninth and tenth graders is presented. Studied the extent to which the unique and typical behaviors of adolescent egocentrism are manifested by the adolescent characters in Kerr's novels. A follow-up study of 26 children (ages 5-13) with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and low intelligence found that children identified with both characteristics have significant behavioral and emotional problems while in their early adolescence.
