The controversy over Black admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is described, which has called into question such areas as quotas, special admissions policies, minority recruiting, and the impact on Black universities of increased Black enrollment at White institutions. Cornell University's Committee on Special Educational Projects program, established to support the admission and adjustment of black students, is described.
