Region, Migration and the Earnigns of White and Black Men
Cutright, Phillips
Social Forces, 53, 2, 297-305, Dec 74
Some consequences of net regional mobility for the male labor force aged 30-37 in 1964 are reported. The effect of geographic mobility on earnings is estimated from earnings differences by mobility status, after controlling for age, sex, race, region of employment, education and academic achievement. Differences in earnings levels between the place of origin and destination must be considered before attributing to migrants selective characteristics that explain differences in earnings between migrants and stable men.
