Attending Behavior: The Basis of Counseling
Ivey, Allen E.
School Counselor, 18, 2, 117-119, Nov '70
Data from this study were analyzed and showed that (a) attending behavior can be taught via the use of the materials and procedures that have been developed; and (b) students rated counselors trainined in attending behavior more positively than they rated counselors who did not receive such training. It seems that the concept of attending is an important precursor to training counselors in more complex skills of interpersonal interaction. (Author)
