The counselor must be as sensitively aware of his own needs and psychological deficits as he strives to be of these needs in his counselees. As a professional person, the counselor must keep himself responsive to even subtle signs of fatigue. He needs to be able to focus on areas of depletion, to analyze the complexities surrounding his self monitoring process, and to consider ways of achieving renewal. (Author)
