Professor Bot: An Action Research Study Exploring Chatbot Use in First-Year English Composition Courses
Suarez, Susan R.
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, New Jersey City University
This action research study's primary purpose was to explore student and instructor experiences of chatbot use in online and hybrid undergraduate English composition courses. This qualitative study used structured and open-ended survey questions, interviews, and chat transcripts to collect data. The collaboration process among researcher and instructors was documented and the procedures were detailed to provide a guide for future implementation. Tinto's student departure theory drove this qualitative study. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
