ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, New Jersey City University
The main issue within the case study was the inclusion of instructional design, specifically ADDIE and open technology design principles. The purpose of this qualitative instrumental case study was to collaborate and receive subjective opinions of the English faculty and librarians on the development of Open Educational Resources (OER) curriculum and on the opportunities and challenges in creating OER resources pertaining to the inclusion of instructional design, specifically ADDIE and open technology design principles, at a southeastern community college. The goals of this case study were to collaborate and receive subjective opinions on the process of creating a British literature open educational digital textbook for the subject college, to develop best practices in creating a British literature open educational resource, and to discover the technological barriers associated with implementation of a British literature open educational resource at the college. Upon completion of the study, the digital textbook was published at the subject college's OER repository. I used semi-structured interviews, focus group interviews, observations such as field notes, personal documents such as emails, participants' artifacts, and a researcher-generated document.
