Reduce Your Dropouts: It's Not as Hard as You Think
Scott, Karen S.
Principal Leadership, v6 n3 p38-42 Nov 2005
Many students drop out of school because they feel that they are unteachable and unliked by administrators and teachers. Teachers may not be aware of how they send negative messages to at-risk students. The solution can be found in improving relationships between at-risk students and school staff members. This approach is often overlooked by administrators. Creating an environment where students experience caring, respectful, and encouraging relationships with all adults can make a difference for students at-risk of dropping out.
