Student dissent of the late 1960's was buried by high school faculties and lay populations served by them. In this article the authors look at change and dissent prior to the funeral and suggest that counselors, at least, might do well to consider exhuming the body. (Author)

The value of the itinerant counselor is discussed. The resident counselor can do testing and vocational and educational planning but is too closely associated with the administration and the establishment to be used by students in discussing personal problems. (CG)
