A recent survey of K-12 teachers in a middle-sized midwestern school system sought to identify the stressful conditions of the teaching profession as perceived by teachers. Women ranked lack of time as the greatest source of stress while men ranked disruptive students as the most stressful condition. (Author/WD)

In a nationwide study of 8th-, 10th-, and 12th-graders, most students reported using a computer for schoolwork. About half the students in all 3 grades reported usage of 2 or fewer hours weekly. Girls tend to use computers more than boys, and college-bound students more than noncollege-bound students. (MLH)

A study of 358 students at a western middle school examined academic, general, home, and social variables. Regarding self-esteem, girls viewed themselves more positively than boys in social experiences. Low achievers were not as satisfied with school facilities as high- and middle-achievers. (MLH)
