The Differential Effects of On- and Off-Campus Living Arrangements on Students' Openness to Diversity.
Pike, Gary R.
NASPA Journal, v39 n4 p283-99 Sum 2002
Examines the effects of on- and off-campus living arrangements on students' openness to diversity using data from 502 first-time-college students. Results indicated that living on campus was directly associated with significantly higher levels of openness to diversity. Living in a Freshman Interest Group was indirectly related to greater openness to diversity through students' relationships with their peers. (Contains 34 references and 3 tables.) (GCP)
