McGehee, William; Tullar, William L. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1979
Responses of a local sample of production workers to a job satisfaction questionnaire are compared with those of an earlier national sample. Differences between the two groups suggest that employees' life and work situations are at least as influential in changing questionnaire responses as the wording of the questions is. (Author/BP)

Fritzsche, Barbara A.; McIntire, Sandra A.; Yost, Amy Powell – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 2002
Data from 559 undergraduates provided modest evidence that Holland's taxonomy of work environments moderated the relationship between personality and performance. Watkins, Marla Baskerville; Kaplan, Seth; Brief, Author P.; Shull, Amanda; Dietz, Joerg; Mansfield, Marie-Therese; Cohen, Robin – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 2006
In this study, we examined the consequences of harboring "modern sexist" beliefs on the career outcomes of both men and women. We argued that individuals endorsing these beliefs disproportionately rely on men (versus women) for work-related advice and, in turn, obtain more promotions than do their less sexist counterparts. Results obtained from a…

Sutherland, Lynette F.; And Others – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1995
An examination of the relationship among nine measures of Holland's concept of congruence and their relationship to job stress used data from 154 workers.
