Secondary students were surveyed to determine the nature and extent of sexual harassment in schools. Results indicated that 81% of students had been sexually harassed, with both boys and girls being targeted by peers and adults. A rap contest methodology for smoking prevention was tested with 10-14 year olds in a predominantly minority school district. Contests occurred after initial assemblies where students heard and viewed taped peer antismoking rap messages. Winning students received $25.
