Data from survey of 530 tenured librarians at 33 university libraries were analyzed to determine if the Association of College and Research Libraries' standards for faculty status (1971) are being met and whether peer review process promotes increased scholarly activity as measured by publication of articles and books. The Library Instruction course at Iowa State University was redesigned to improve its effectiveness and increase student motivation. Data collected during the fall 1981 semester demonstrate that four videotapes produced for the purpose of improving student attitudes toward library are having a positive effect.
