A-B Distinction and Therapeutic Interaction
Segal, Bernard
J Consult Clin Psychol, 34, 3, 442-446, Jun '70
A comparison of therapeutic activity of A and B therapists obtained from tape recordings of therapy hours suggested that: (1) B therapists tended to be more facilitative; (2) A therapists tended to be somewhat more interpretative and negative. The present findings are consistent with previous research with the A and B scale, which suggested a relationship between A and B personality characteristics and behavior in psychotherapy. (Author)
