Components of Quantitative Reasoning: General and Group Ability Factors.
Tirre, William C.; Pena, Carmen M.
Intelligence, v17 n4 p501-21 Oct-Dec 1993
The hypothesis that quantitative reasoning performance is a function of specific processing components as well as general cognitive abilities (working memory capacity, reasoning, and verbal comprehension) was tested with 240 military recruits. Results suggest that specific processing components are at least as important as general cognitive ability and working memory. (SLD)
