The Heterogeneity of New Entrants and the Selectivity of Higher Education Institutions: Some Results Using Data from the CHEERS Project.
Murdoch, Jake
Higher Education, v44 n3-4 p379-92 Oct-Dec 2002
Used data from the Careers after Higher Education: A European Research Survey (CHEERS) to examine the selectivity of higher education institutions across countries and fields, particularly in Europe and Japan. The example of business studies reveals that the selection process is heterogeneous across countries. Differences between types of institutions also explain some countries' differences in selectivity. (EV)
