Gifted children in grades 4 through 6 were presented with a list of 34 leadership positions and asked whether men, women, or either sex could hold that position. Analysis indicated that boys tended to have more traditional sex role stereotypes than did girls. (Author/DB)

Loeb, Roger C.; Jay, Gina – Gifted Child Quarterly, 1987
Comparison of gifted (N=125) and non-gifted (N=102) 9- to 12-year-olds' self-concept ratings suggested that gifted girls have more positive self-concepts than nongifted girls. Mothers and teachers indicated fewer problems with gifted than non-gifted girls. No differences were found in these areas between gifted and non-gifted boys. (Author/CB)

Both gifted (n=69) and regular (n=66) French Canadian elementary students were compared for school intrinsic motivation and perceived competence.
