This paper presents rationale, methodology, and implications for using action plans to facilitate behavior modification of college students in marriage education courses. Case studies are given as illustration of how action plans may be implemented. (Author)

Fathers' reactions to their wives' pregnancies and especially to the actual deliveries are discussed and three case histories are given to illustrate the gradual build up of tension as the father anticipates delivery which often culminates in crises at the time of delivery. Where one of the parties is under 18, California law since November, 1970 has required premarital counseling before receipt of a marriage license. This article describes the program, established to meet this need based on a model of education about problems of everyday living. (Author)
