How and Why Standards Can Improve Student Achievement: A Conversation with Robert J. Marzano.
Scherer, Marge
Educational Leadership, v59 n1 p14-18 Sep 2001

The standards identification process was clumsy, but started a national conversation about desirable subject-area knowledge requirements. Standards content should be cut by two-thirds; teacher-made tests can be reliable. (MLH)
