Putting Rhetoric on Trial: Using a Simulated Courtroom in the Rhetoric Classroom
Hess, Aaron
Communication Teacher, v27 n4 p235-240 2013
This article describes an activity in which students will be able to apply rhetorical theory effectively and critically from specific theorists throughout history to modern-day issues. Through a simulated trial of a current figure, this activity makes connections between rhetorical theories to current affairs, thereby inviting students to consider how such perspectives carry relevance today. This activity is designed for students in courses in "Introduction to Rhetoric, Rhetoric of the Western World, and Rhetorical Theory."
