Comprehension of Reversible Sentences in "Agrammatisim": A Meta-Analysis.
Berndt, Rita Sloan; And Others
Cognition, v58 n3 p289-308 Mar 1996
Investigated the source of agrammatic aphasic patients' difficulty comprehending semantically reversible sentences. Found approximately equal distributions of three distinct patterns. Results conflict with explanations of comprehension failure which state that a single pattern of performance on sentence structures characterizes comprehension of all agrammatic speakers, and also emphasize the difficulty of identifying a single cause for sentence production failure.
