Distractions in the Wireless Classroom
Bugeja, Michael J.
Chronicle of Higher Education, v53 n21 pC1 Jan 2007
This article describes the difficulty faced by educators in fighting inappropriate use of technology among students inside the classrooms. It is not uncommon for teachers to find some of their students logging on to MySpace and eBay during lectures. Due to these types of scenarios, some teachers have started to ban laptops and cellular phones inside the classrooms. Some teachers put warnings in their syllabi about the inappropriate use of technology. Suggestions on how to lessen distractions among students inside a wireless classroom are presented.
