Lyons-Ruth, Karlen – Child Development, 1977
This study tested the assimilation of an auditory-visual stimulus configuration in 32 infants aged 15 to 16 weeks. The infants' discrimination of matched and mismatched auditory-visual stimuli indicated that infants by 4 months of age are capable of constructing bimodal schemata. (JMB)

The ability to recall and organize actions was studied in a sample of 80 children ranging in age from 5 to 11 years. Eight different auditory or visual commands were successively presented for 10 trials in each modality in a free-recall task. (Author/JMB)
