Trends and changes in recruitment and hiring practices for academic administrators are reviewed, based on a study of job notices appearing in six issues of the "Chronicle of Higher Education" between January 31 and March 7, 1977. Results from a sample of 72 advertised positions indicated a clear persistence of all institutions in drawing only from a traditional pool of candidates. (LBH)
