The Master of Human Services (MHS) offered by the College for Human Services, is intended to be the equivalent of any master's degree in social work. Students are provided with jobs in the field and are taught professional expertise over a varied 2-year (8 semester) period. (Author/PG)

Although enrollments in undergraduate liberal arts curricula and in traditional graduate programs are slowing, enrollments in explicitly inter- or multidisciplinary graduate liberal education programs are increasing. Some of these programs are described. (LBH)

The Humanities External Degree Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills, is a fully accredited, interdisciplinary program offering both a bachelor's and a master's degree and waiving all attendance requirements. Its curriculum, procedures, and emphasis on independent study are described.
