The National University Consortium for Telecommunications in Teaching, the first national effort to provide high quality bachelor's degree programs for Americans who cannot attend college full-time on campus, is described. It is suggested that both institutional participation and enrollment projections may be exceeded. (MLW)

From 1974 to 1982, the University of Mid-America, modeled on the Open University of Great Britain, tried to give adults new access to higher education. Its successes and failures are discussed by its president and vice-president. (MLW)

Thirty-eight colleges and universities in southeast Philadelphia are substituting cooperation for competition in the CLEO Project. Focus is on support services for adult students and growing industry liaisons supported by a network of administrators, faculty, and a small professional and volunteer staff. (MSE)
