In this study, comparisons of measured philosophical beliefs, philosophical positions related in an interview, and counseling behavior were made for 22 counselor trainees at the University of Maine at Orono. To provide life-like environments in group counseling situations, the Helping Relation Video Tape was developed. Originally designed as a group test measuring individual responses, the tapes were later used at a counseling summer course and in training undergraduates.
