A Report to the U.S. Department of Education on Educational Challenges and Technical Assistance Needs for the Mid-Continent Region
CNA Corporation
The Mid-Continent Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) provides an assessment of the technical assistance needs of educators in our region in response to a directive from the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. This RAC is one of ten such committees appointed by the Secretary to conduct the assessment over the period of December 2004 through March 2005. This committee first identified the major challenges facing the region in improving student achievement and implementing the provisions of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. It then assessed the types of technical assistance that might enable educators in the region to overcome these challenges. Appended is: Biographical information about members of the Mid-Continent Regional Advisory Committee. A glossary is also included. [Report prepared by the Mid-Continent Regional Advisory Committee.]
