Could Education Contribute to Reduce Prevalence of HIV among Injecting Drug Users? A Case Study of IDUs from the Rehabilitation Center for Drugs Users

This study primarily focuses on Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) from the Narconon Nepal for drugs rehabilitation and prevention center. The study attempt to explore the changing behavior of IDUs from the education received from the rehabilitation center which contributes to reduce the prevalence of HIV among IDUs. The data were collected through semi structured interview. The key respondents were IDUs turned into becoming trainers. Constructivism philosophical view was considered with taking regards of cognitive learning process and conditions. The result of the study explored sixty percent as success rate and forty percent of failure rate among one hundred drugs users in the rehabilitation. The success rates also have the reoccurrence of rehabilitation. However, education provided by the rehabilitation center is specifically focused in control of drugs and rehabilitating the drug users, which signify the lack of sexuality education.
