Class Scheduling Preferences.
Richards, Irving E.; And Others
In order to ascertain students' preferences for the number of times a class should meet each week, 375 questionnaires administered to students during the 1989 summer session at Cuyahoga Community College, Western Campus (Ohio) were evaluated. Results indicated that 49% of respondents preferred classes meeting twice each week, and 29% preferred classes meeting three times per week. The most popular times for classes were 6 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, 10 to noon on weekdays, 8 to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 to 10 a.m. on weekdays. Groups who preferred classes meeting two times per week included: males, females, and parttime students. Other factors, such as marital status, number of credit hours completed, and commuting distance from college, were also evaluated. A copy of the survey questionnaire and eight references are included. (JDD)
