Lessner, Ryan; Akdere, Mesut
Online Submission, Paper presented at the Academy of Human Resource Development International Research Conference in the Americas (Panama City, FL, Feb 20-24, 2008)
The changing psychological contract has become a focus for organizational development, especially as job roles within organizations continue to change. This literature review examines the evolving employee-employer relationship and how this relationship has impacted career management and organizations for over the past century. The paper integrates the existing literature on psychological contracts and the ability of organizations to employ and retain individuals whose career goals match those of the organization.
