Convers, James E. – Phylon, 1986
This study fulfills a need for empirical information on black scholars. A questionnaire sent to Black American sociologists with a Ph.D. elicited the following information: (1) the number of females increased 200% since 1967: (2) the median age dropped; (3) most were reared in southern states; and (4) most wrote race related dissertations.
