Feeney, Jennifer; Bernthal, John – Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools, 1996
The validity of using the Revised Denver Developmental Screening Test (RDDST) was investigated by testing 199 preschool children (ages 3-4) and reviewing the results 6 months later. Results indicated that the RDDST was an efficient prognostic tool in predicting formal assessment results for children at risk for language impairments. (CR)

Beck, Ann R.; Thompson, James R.; Clay, Sandra L. – Journal of Special Education Technology, 2000
The influence of icon prediction and length of icon sequence on college students' recall of 24 iconically encoded messages was investigated. Findings indicated that using an icon prediction feature resulted in increased recall. The length of the icon sequences also had a significant effect on recall. (Contains references.) (Author/CR)

Mayes, Susan Dickerson; Calhoun, Susan L. – Autism: The International Journal of Research and Practice, 2001
A study compared children with autism or Asperger syndrome with speech delays (n=23) with those without speech delays (n=24). No significant differences were found on any of the 71 variables analyzed, including autistic symptoms and expressive language. Results suggest that early speech delay may be irrelevant to later functioning. (Contains…
