A Structural Validation of the Schedule of Racist Events
Greer, Tawanda M.
Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, v43 n2 p91-107 Jul 2010
This study examined the structural validity of the Schedule of Racist Events (SRE), a brief inventory that assesses the frequency and stressfulness of racism in the lives of African Americans. The original three-factor structure of the SRE was examined, along with an alternative structure that was designed to test whether the SRE captured types of racism. Although the results indicated adequate fit to data for both models, they also revealed some differences in the underlying dimensions of racism assessed by the SRE. Implications for future research are discussed. (Contains 5 tables and 2 figures.)
