Describes contextual differences of author's experiences in 1960s with experiences of current young counseling psychologists presented in January 1992 issue of "The Counseling Psychologist." Describes differences in career options, training, expectations, and research activity. Concludes new professionals always face career transition problems. Notes some lessons can be learned from those who went earlier but others are generationally unique. (ABL)
