Clarifies relationship of alienation to adolescence by describing alienated and at-risk adolescent. Discusses research on adolescent alienation as following two converging themes, the socio-psychological, and the sociological. Recommends humanizing adolescents' environments through intergenerational integration, their integration into responsible societal activities, providing them with a sense of meaning, and enfranchisement into the decision-making process.
