There's a Uke in My Class
Brandl, Dave; Croke, Bill
Montessori Life: A Publication of the American Montessori Society, v32 n4 p38-43 Win 2021
Ukuleles are becoming more widespread in Montessori classrooms. In this article, the authors answer questions teachers may have about having a uke in their classroom, such as: "How do I start?" "Where would I buy an instrument?" "What do I look for?" "What's it going to cost?" "How long will it take?" They clarify information about sizes, differences between, and price ranges of commonly available ukuleles; point out what to look for or avoid when purchasing one; and offer simple ukulele playing tips to get teachers started. They also share their experiences in taking ukes into classrooms and getting children involved.
