This bibliography identifies reports of research on correlates, causes, effects, and treatment of test anxiety. The listing was developed for a synthesis of research, performed by meta-analysis at Adrian College, Michigan in 1986-87. Guidelines for including studies were applied as follows: (1) the research concerned academic test anxiety, using English-speaking subjects in mainstream education; (2) the report provided product-moment correlation coefficients and their sample sizes or, in the case of experiments, sufficient data for effect-size calculations; (3) test anxiety was measured by a validated instrument specific to the construct; (4) treatments for test anxiety used at least two independent groups, including a control; and, (5) each experimental group contained at least eight subjects. This screening delivered a body of 562 studies. The reports are listed alphabetically by author in three categories: journal articles (pp. 4-32); doctoral dissertations (pp. 32-47); and, other research (pp. 47-51). (Author)
