Response to the "Journal of School Choice's" Special Section on "Private Religious Protestant and Catholic Education in North America: Contributions and Concerns"
Jeynes, William H.
Journal of School Choice, v6 n2 p235-251 2012
In this article, the author addresses many of the key points in each of the special section articles to which he responded. He observes that they are all very important pieces of research in that they clearly add important information to the existing body of research. The author notes that the articles provide insight on school climate in faith-based schools, addressing race and identity, appreciating the principal's sense of calling in these schools, and addressing how believers being raised in Christian and public schools prepared them in different ways. He also asserts that Christian schools need to return to their main calling, which is to help young people develop into Christ-like human beings in their minds and hearts.
