Saving Urban Children: Revisiting the Mission of Urban Education in 2017
Kotzin, Diana Slaughter
Penn GSE Perspectives on Urban Education, v14 n1 Fall 2017
This article begins with an introduction to the concept of urban education. Next, the author addresses the future challenge of long-term and developmental perspective in this field, as contrasted with perspectives held by prekindergarten and preschool professionals in early childhood education. Her hope is that this challenge will be addressed in the future by local states that assume responsibility for the education of United States children and youth between ages 5-18.
