Parents and the V-Chip: A Kaiser Family Foundation Survey. How Parents Feel (and What They Know) about TV, the V-Chip, and the TV Ratings System. Toplines.
This report presents the data from a national, random sample survey designed by the Kaiser Family Foundation and Princeton Survey Research Associates (PSRA) and conducted by PSRA by telephone between April 6-26, 1999, when 1001 parents of children ages 2-17 were interviewed about their opinions of television, the V-Chip, and the TV ratings system. The report contains the "topline" results and features parents' answers to 34 different questions. It notes that 698 interviews were fielded prior to the Littleton, Colorado school shootings and 303 after. Contains 13 notes. A chart pack containing 9 large data charts is attached. (NKA)
