Women's Educational Equity. What is Being Written and Who is Interested?
Marzone, Jean; Butler, Matilda
Using the resources of the Women's Educational Equity Communications Network (WEECN), the authors addressed two questions: (1) What are the topics that have been extensively researched, and (2) What are the topics most frequently requested by those using information on women's educational equity? Some initial findings of this study are presented in this paper. First, some background about the establishment of WEECN and the availability of the Network's bibliographic services is provided. Data bases from which WEECN draws its citations are listed. Tables included in the paper present data for (1) topics that represent at least two percent of the total number of documents in the WEECN data base; (2) interest areas indicated by response to a coupon sent to potential WEECN users; (3) information topics requested 50 or more times by WEECN clients from October 1977 to September 1979; and (4) an analysis and ranking of interest areas by sex, occupational type, and region of residence of user.
