Born To Read--Florida Style. [Videotape].
Florida Dept. of State, Tallahassee. Div. of Library and Information Services.
This 14-minute videotape recording describes Florida's Born to Read program, which teaches young at-risk parents the importance of reading to their children, even infants and toddlers. It notes that librarians, health care providers, and community service organizations form partnerships that reach out to at-risk expectant and new parents. In the videotape, young parents, librarians, health care providers, and community organization members tell their own stories about how the program affected their lives. It notes that Born to Read is the first step in introducing children to the joys of reading, and that successful Born to Read programs are community based. The videotape concludes with information on starting a Born to Read program. (RS)
